Karen Gill qualified as a Solicitor in 1981 and has worked as an employment lawyer in both private practice and in-house. She went on to become
Co-founder and Director of the leading search and selection consultancy, Graham Gill.
After 18 years placing lawyers in many different roles in both boom and recessionary times, Karen requalified as a career coach and established the Karen Gill Consultancy, which is one of the very few consultancies in the UK which specialises in career coaching and career counselling for lawyers.
Karen has worked with lawyers at all levels - from paralegals to partners - and her extensive knowledge of the legal profession - and of helping lawyers find alternative careers inside and outside the law - places her in an ideal position to work with lawyers facing the very real and difficult challenges that a career in the law can present. She also understands that a career change out of the law is not to be undertaken lightly and that her clients above all need to work with someone who will listen, reassure and be able to offer sound and non-judgmental assistance in absolute confidence.
Karen is a Member of the Association for Coaching and is committed to ongoing professional development. She is currently enrolled on the Meyler Campbell Business Coaching programme, the only such programme to be accredited by the SRA and the WABC (Worldwide Association for Business Coaches). She has devised and delivered workshops for the Association of Women Solicitors focussing on women lawyers returning to work, and has contributed to Legal Business Magazine. The Karen Gill Consultancy also works with associate consultants, all of whom have extensive experience of the legal profession and many of whom have also practised as lawyers. All our consultants offer a bespoke service, based on one-to-one sessions tailored to your particular needs.
We want you to get the very best from our service - so we don't ask you to commit to set 'programmes' - we work with you to establish how many sessions you may need, always in the knowledge that these can be flexible and that your needs may change. We are based in central London, but have links with other coaching consultancies throughout the UK if you are unable to get to us.
We offer a realistic fee structure, with a discount if you are currently unemployed. There is also a discount of 5% if you wish to book four or more sessions in advance. We do ask that if you have to cancel a session with us for any reason, you need to give us at least 24 hours notice, otherwise the full fee for that session will be payable.
